Another route into the Upper Town of Old Quebec, this one located at rue des Remparts, on the northern side of the Old Town. The history of the ramparts is shown in this sign located where this photograph was taken.
From the northern ramparts, looking in the direction from which the road in the previous photo approaches. The marina is Bassin Louise, part of a redevelopment of that area, from industrial to pleasure craft.
A view along rue des Remparts, showing the typical architectural style of the area.
Continuing along rue des Remparts a way, showing some of the cannons, and that famous hotel. Montmorency Park is at the end of this street - the area with all the trees!
A better view of the old cannons.
Ah, back at the memorial to Louis Hebert where we started!
The Place d'Armes, a very pretty park. Note that the building on the left, behind the park, is the motor vehicle entrance to the Chateau Frontenac. This area used to be a military parade ground, hence the name.
The monument in the middle of Place d'Armes honours the Recollet Monks, who arrived in 1615.
