TEP - Tiles, Electrical, Painting

I realised the other day that I have no photos of the porch with all the tiles in place. So this fixes that problem! The left is an overview from the driveway, while the right one shows the finishing of the vertical edge of the cement. That's the finish - it will not be painted. Tiles will ultimately fall off as the water runs down the back over the years. A painted finish will also show stains from water running off the top; this material can be washed clean, whereas a painted finish would require a fresh coat.

And there are also tiles for the front door "step". The lighter coloured tiles nearer the camera are outdoor tiles. I expect the driveway's very white/bright cement will be covered with a darker material to cut down the glare.

Bob the tiler at work in the shower area of the ensuite. Here filing the edge of a tile which forms part of the top row. The combination of tile sizes and shower height results in there being a row with very narrow tiles; so the better solution is to have the top and bottom rows slightly taller than half height to achieve the required overall height.

A spy photo taken through the ensuite window, showing an almost completed wall. And Bob is fitting the tile with the carefully filed edge onto the back wall.

Craig was installing the microwave oven when I arrived. The standard oven will go below it.

And Richard was painting the garage walls - seen here with full undercoat and the edge trimming in yellow, in preparation for painting the walls.

The telephone connection box. As this is a new property, a new connection is required to the telephone wiring in the street. Craig had already pulled the cable through the conduit to the Telstra pit in the street beside the driveway. This box marks the demarcation location between my wiring and Telstra's - they "own" the wire out to the street. The rest (in the house) is mine.
