Finishing Touches Galore

Unlike other pages in this series, there are two days worth of photos here. Basically because there wasn't much of visual interest to photograph on the first day!

January 21st

Ah, plumbing bits and pieces have arrived. David, from Shire Bathware (with assistance from his son - before school returns next week) delivered the toilets, sink, taps etc.

Craig is up the ladder trying to find a wire. The gyprock crew went to much effort to avoid leaving wires poking out, so Craig was fishing around trying to find them. Note also that the other ceiling fan is installed. And that's Chris carrying the first of the plumbing bits and pieces into the big room, for storage.

January 23rd

The bathroom is moving right along. The shower stall has tiles on the floor, and a lip to prevent the water flowing out. This is not so in the ensuite, where the floor reaches its maximum height under the shower door. Here there was insufficient slope to ensure the water would stay in the shower area, so the lip has been placed there. Note also the tiles along the side of the bath. Now awaiting the installation of the vanity. Note the dark gray circles in the floor are the floor drains, which are covered with a protective layer until the room is completed.

Bob the tiler at work on the porch. It's beginning to look finished now!

The view from the far end of the porch (relative to the above photo). Note that there will be no tiles on the side of the cement slab. Instead, a special purpose material is applied. Tiles will come off over time; the special purpose stuff is supposed to avoid that problem.

The big room, showing the ceiling fan installed, and also the up-light on the wall at the left hand end of the sliding door. There is another one of these at the other end of the room. And the wiring for the electric window openers is now all tidied up.
