Bladder Operations

Since my last visit, the bladder area has been pumped dry (and there had been no rain!), and Garry had built the retaining wall for the bladder, as seen here about mid image. This is as seen from the north western corner of the family room.

A view of the bladder area as seen from the north east corner of the kitchen (outside, of course).

A closer view of the Garry's new wall to keep the bladder in place. Note that there are holes in the lower level of bricks (below the gravel fill) to allow the ground water to pass out to the sump on the other side, from where it will be pumped out.

Rock Shape

This is part of the rock removed to create the sump on the outside of the bladder. It's vaguely the shape of Australia, if you don't mind that much of Victoria and all of Tasmania is missing, and some of Western Australia and Cape York!
