After The Rain

Saturday was a fine day - as evidenced by the blue skies here. I visited the site, not knowing whether I'd find anybody, but as will be obvious from the following photos, there was no activity while I was there.

The view from the driveway shows no great change, but that's because that part of the house is framed as far as practical at present.

This view from outside the lounge room shows there has been activity along the master bedroom north wall and the ensuite area. And evidence of the rain in the puddles left on what will become the laundry floor in the foreground. As there is to be an external door to the laundry, the area where the door will be located is continued at the same level as the rest of the laundry floor, and hence the water could drain away. Thus, the laundry floor is much drier than the other "lakes".

This shows all the new work since the last photos on Wednesday. The ensuite frame is complete, though the WC attached to it (far end, right of image) is not. This photo was taken from the western courtyard, looking roughly south east. And note the dark clounds building up! I don't recall any rain falling - at least not at my present home.

Another view of the ensuite area, showing the nice little puddle of water in the slightly lower floor area. The frame section leaning against the wall is probably the southern wall of the ensuite's WC.

The garage/workshop common wall, and the eastern wall of the computer room. And another pool of water in the bathroom and WC lowered floor area.

Another area where the water has accumulated - around the footings of the north west corner, that is the porch and family room. This will be properly drained when the project is finished - just not quite yet! Note that the two colours of bricks on the wall running to the upper right is due to two different types of bricks, not the bricks being wet. The lower bricks are commons, whereas the higher bricks are the face brick for the house.
