To ease congestion, especially during peak summer season, the park has these
organised tours to move people around, while a park ranger (in the cabin just
in front of the guests) provides a commentary.
And yes, there is a tunnel at Tunnel View! Opened in the 1930s to ease access
to the southern areas.

Vernal Falls are next in line on the Merced River. The small lake below the
falls is formed by the falls wearing down the rocks over the centuries.
This is easily seen in eastern Washington as many of these pools, created
during the ice ages and fed with enormous floods from Montana, are now dry.
