Thus, a free afternoon was available, and I headed to Golden Gate Park and Shilshole Marina - after lunch at Ivar's Salmon House, which has a new menu somewhat out of character with the style of the restaurant of yore.
After navigating (by dead reckoning and somewhat disused neurons) I reached Golden Gate Park, and came upon a duck pond, and this pair of ducks preening themselves on a log.
The view of the Shilshole Marina from the end of Golden Gate Park. The hill behind is part of Discovery Park, which is located on the other side of the Ballard Locks.
By now, the clouds had rolled in, the wind picked up a bit, and the camera batteries were flat. This was sufficient to call it a day, at least as far as photography was concerned. Tomorrow would be a nicer day to take pictures. This is a more detailed view of the Shilshole Marina.
