The Gang Of Five

After a light lunch at Microsoft (postponed from yesterday), this afternoon and evening was spent with four other ex-Microsoft employees, at Mary's home, just "down the hill" from my old home. As well as Mary, there was Marilyn, Nancy and Dori. Yes, the male contingent was outnumbered 4 to 1!

Cat sitting under a dining chair Mary's new (to most of us) cat is Minnie, seen here under a kitchen table chair with Nancy trying to entice her out. Without suceess. Minnie was still adjusting to the crowd.

Close up of man Then Marilyn wanted a look at my new camera, and staged a sneak photo of the photographer! I felt quite naked without a camera strap around my neck. This was taken in Mary's kitchen.

Cat sitting on stairs, only partially visible Minnie the stair cat! She seemed to quite enjoy this location - perhaps because it was close enough to the action to participate quickly, but far enough away to stage a quick exit if somebody was bold enough to come near.

Looking down to full view of cat on stairs This is the more complete Minnie waiting in ambush on the stairs.

Cat's head just poking around door frame Minnie changed position to one where she could see into the kitchen. Still content to stay out of harm's way, though.

Mary's back yard has come a long way since my last visit - but that was over four years ago. Like the rest of the Seattle area, there's more green there. Compare this with the photo when I left, admittedly taken in better light.

Distant mountains behind trees on ridge across Lake Washington The Olympic Mountains are the lighter shaded mountains in the background - on the other side of Puget Sound. The darker mountins and trees are across Lake Washington.

And so concluded another enjoyable afternoon with friends, catching up with four years of our lives, and solving the world's problems. Life doesn't get much better. Oh, and there was an enjoyable meal in there too!
