Terra Firma Again

Luna Park Day: Peter carrying Flynn off the ferry at Milsons Point

"They all rushed like pigs, but I got there first!". I shepherded Jake off the ferry at Milsons Point Wharf, while Peter, centre with white cap, carried Flynn off - mostly because of the crowd, as there was some shoving and pushing, and Flynn is small enough to slip through the rail into the water! That would not have been a good thing.

As sorting out which tickets to buy, I went off to purchase them while Peter looked after the boys.

Luna Park Day: Swan and steam engine on carousel

First ride was the carousel, the sign for which states

Climb on the steam driven Galloping Horse and Racing Cockerels. Built in England circa 1900. Handcarved timber horses are accompanied by the original Luna Park 89 key Gavioli Organ! Playing The Happiest Music On Earth.
Well, there is a steam engine, but it was not obviously working, and there was an organ, but again it didn't appear to be doing anything. There was music, but I'm not sure it came from the organ. And this looks more like a swan than a racing cockerel, but I could be mistaken!

Carousel in motion, and I've been spotted!

Laughing Clowns

Luna Park Day: Jake and Flynn with the laughing clowns

The boys wanted to play the "laughing clowns" - a very elementary game, but one where they can win a prize! Here Jake is trying to time putting the ball in to get a high score.

The clown's mouth was a bit high for Flynn, so Peter held him up. Flynn's technique needs a bit of work, though.

Dodgem Cars

Luna Park Day: Peter and Flynn on the Dodgem Cars

We lined up for the dodgem cars. Peter took Flynn, while Jake came with me.

There was a bit of a tangle, so the ride stopped while the operators sorted it out. Here Peter and Flynn are stuck in the jam. After this Jake and I had a turn. Jake drove, I operated the accelerator. Jake drove really well, and had we gone for another ride, I would have let him operate the accelerator too.

Coney Island

Luna Park Day: Peter and Jake about to ride the Big slippery dip

There are some "traditional" rides in the Coney Island pavillion. One of them is this slippery dip. Peter and Jake are at the top of the slide, about to come down, as shown here. detail here.

I would have taken more photos, but Flynn had a toilet emergency just as Peter and Jake were about to come down, and that rather distracted me.
