Father Francis began the ceremony when all the guests had arrived. Which, strangely, was the time it was supposed to be!
Father Francis began explaining the implications of being a parent or god-parent. Although I preusme Cooper did not understand any of this, he was quite fascinated by Father Francis.
Father Francis "signing" Cooper with the Sign of the Cross, part of becoming Christian.
Kelly reading the "Prayers of the Faithful" for this weekend, which seemed quite appropriate for Baptism.
Father Francis reading from the weekend's Gospel, which also seemed appropriate for the Baptism.
Father Francis anointing Baby Cooper with oil. This oil is blessed at Easter time in the cathedral and used by parishes throughout the year.
"I baptise thee in the name of the Father...". The water was heated, which was a nice thought, given how cool the day was. Made even more so by the rain.
Tynan receiving a special blessing from Father Francis.
The Wallace Family, with an interloper. Back row is Kelly holding Cooper, Glenn; front row is Tynan and (interloper) Jake.
Cooper afterwards, apparently none the worse for wear and ready to face the outdoors with his bonnet. Cooper's paternal grandmother Sandra is on the left, Kelly is holding Cooper.
Back outside, looking to the left side of the church. The building is some sort of shrine it seems, and is part of the church grounds. Note the fog/low cloud in the distance. It was not a very pleasant day - especially not being outdoors.
Time to leave and head back to Bendalong to have the celebration for Cooper's Baptism.
