On southern end of Carmel Valley Road

At the top of the ridge separating Carmel and Salinas Valleys, looking towards the Carmel Valley.

The view not showing the road!

Arroyo Seco Road

The road from the Carmel Valley crosses the above ridge and runs down the other side to eventually meet the Arroyo Seco Road, which heads north to meet US-101 at Soledad. This is the route we planned on taking.

On Arroyo Seco Road, looking north (towards Soledad); Seco Creek

I believe this is the Seco Creek, a little south of Soledad.

Same creek, same location, looking south.

A very dry looking field.

Just across the road, unimproved property in its (presumably) natural state.

On Arroyo Seco Road, before joining US101 at Soledad

Just before reaching US-101 at Soledad. This is vineyard territory. The wine industry in the Napa Valley, north of San Francisco, is spreading south to Salinas.

Grape vines at the same location as above.
