Rainy Pass is the second highest section of the North Cascades Highway. It was also the snowiest section, probably because as the clouds move to the east, they snow fall diminishes.
This GPS receiver shot shows the altitude - 4,809 feet.
Looking back towards the dams and what is perhaps Mt. Hardy. There was also quite a bit of traffic for a week day.
Quite a bit of snow here still.
