And here is my official group photo. And it's awful - this is after some serious massaging, as the photo was underexposed. [Word of explanation: You'll notice in the photo of Signe and Joey in the dining room on Mount Fløyen that I used "fill flash", which uses a low power flash to fill in the darker areas (faces in this case). Alas, I didn't realise - I don't do this often - that it also affects normal camera operations. So, I didn't adjust the camera after taking the photo on Mt. Fløyen!]
Annette to the rescue! She kindly provided this photo, from which she is, sadly, missing. But, of course, a little fakery can fix that!
At intermission, the windows were opened, and we had this view of the fish market (closed and dismantled for the day), and that general area.
After the concert there was a delightful sunset to observe. And then there was the question of why the crane arrived.
Well, it's a poor man's bungee jump! The crane lowers the elastic rope, which is attached to the rider, whose feet are placed in toe holds on a large concrete block. Then the crane winds the cable in, tensioning the elastic part. When the feet are released, B-O-I-N-G, the rider is shot up into the air, then free falls, oscillating for several cycles before being lowered to the ground to allow the next victim to be tested.
Torgalmenningen at night. It was a long exposure (it was 10:45PM!) of 1/3 second, and with nowhere to rest the camera, it was a hand held photo. And thus a little blurry.
The ferris wheel located just near the fish market. Perhaps it was just the weather, but if I had gone on it, the number of riders would
Evidence of rain - perhaps explains the low rider interest in the ferris wheel.
