From here I walked back towards the city centre, an area which we passed by on the way to Edvard Grieg's home this morning. As the main street is pedestrian only, hoofing it was the way to go.
The two contrasting architectural styles I photographed last night. Except this time the contrasting style is more apparent.
Mount Fløyen, as seen from Bryggen, showing one of the funicular cars near the top.
The irregular warehouse buildings of Bryggen.
The tourist train on its way around the streets. The Rosenkrantz Tower is visible in the top left of this picture.
Ludvig Holberg is Scandinavia's "answer" to Moliére; this statue is in front of the Old Federal Bank of Norway Building (on the right), and across the street from the fish market. Unknown to me at the time, this evening's concert location is this building!
I recall seeing something about this piece of art - along the lines of it being a capsule history of Bergen. However, I can't find anything about it now, so your guess is as good as mine!
Looking towards the Fish Market and Bryggen, on a busy Friday afternoon.
Looking towards Ulriken, the mountain with the communications tower, also showing the art on one of the downtown buildings.
Ole Bull Plaza.
Statue of Ole Bull in this delightful fountain.
And a pleasant place to stop and enjoy a coffee and snack on such a nice afternoon.
