Having finished my duties in the hotel, it was time to go walking around some of the other areas of Molde which I had not explored. This was a free and easy walk, as there were no activities scheduled for the rest of the day, and no concerts I particularly wanted to see tonight.
The scene along the street beside our hotel. This was the end of the stalls and streets closed to traffic for the festival.
Dr. Harmonica is playing a guitar - seems a bit strange! Actually he is also playing the harmonica, using one of those "around the neck" gizmos to hold it in place. Something of a one man band.
There was even a vendor selling Australian stuff. Nothing too outlandish, although at least one of the people there stood on the "roof" at one time and played the bagpipes. It certainly drew the crowd in, but wasn't especially Australian.
The view from the top of the Town Hall, showing some of the many red roses planted along the top.
From Town Hall Square with the Lutheran Cathedral overlooking the Rose Maiden statue. The Town Hall is the black building to the left of the statue.
The town's bus station and shopping square. It's also the location of the Post Office (to the left, out of picture) which is where I posted the cards I sent to a few people.
The Moldeelva, the river which runs through town. Though it was fairly dry, as expected this time of year. And even though there was drizzle from time to time, we did not experience any really heavy rain. The river is flowing towards the camera, and is about to enter the fjord.
Looking down the Moldeelva from further up the hill. The spire on the right is the Lutheran Cathedral.
A nicely maintained cemetery, with a great view across the fjord. And a couple maintaining one of the graves.
At some time I ran into Barbara and we headed off to find something to eat. We ended up in the same place as last night, but the dining room where we ate was unavailable, so we ended up in the cafeteria section - meal was just as good.
