Tramore

After the abbey we continued south to Waterford and then onto Tramore, which is located on the southern coast.

The beach, and keen beach walkers, given that it was raining, and not especially warm (at least by my standards).

A rain cloud coming in over the beach and amusement park area.

The western side of the bay on which Tramore is located. Note the (just visible) columns on Gt Newtown Head, the furthest headland - that is our next location.

There's a lookout at the headland, and we even managed to find it! I don't know why one column has a statue, or why it is there etc.

Along the Coast

From Tramore we headed west along the coast road, enjoying the delightful scenery.

Near Annestown.

A closer view, showing the waves. This wind and rain is the tail end of a gale with 80 mph winds which came through last night.

Still at the same location. Irish drivers seem to expect people will pull to the side, not necessarily off the road, to stop for whatever reason. A very civilised expectation.

Near Bunmahon west of Tramore

A little further along, this time near Bunmahon, where we turned and headed back to Kilkenny, for another delightful dinner at Ballyragget's finest (and only!) restaurant.
