Over The Burren to Lisdoonvarra

After the remains of that last castle, the road heads inland.

Road near Ennistymon

A typical Irish country road. And what a delightful road to ride on! So many of Ireland's roads are enclosed with either hedges or rock walls. And they are also used as dividers between fields. The whole countryside seems so neatly arranged! This photo is near Ennistymon.

The Burren

The view from near the top of the climb over The Burren. The water is all part of Gallway Bay, and the photo covers the area through which we drove this morning.

Part of The Burren

A detailed view of the hillsides, which are quite barren, epsecially by Irish standards.

Lisdoonvarra

Having late starts, and leisurely distances to travel each day, we stopped when and where we felt like it. One such town was Lisdoonvarra, where we stopped for lunch in the pub.

Town Square of Lisdoonvarra

The central square of the town, with a couple of Aussie tourists adding to the sculpture.

The musicians and dancers add quite a nice touch to the square.
