Although closer to the altar than for the canonisation Mass, we still couldn't see all that much. So the TV screens were quite helpful.
The choir before Mass began.
Michelangelo's magnificent dome.
The Cardinals arrive to begin Mass.
A better view of the umbrella "Communion stations".
The Pope was not the celebrant for Mass, but he did arrive at the end in the popemobile, and toured the congregation in St. Peter's Square. Being just 3 rows from the front, I hoped for a great view; alas, the popemobile turned off before reaching our section, so the only photo I have is this one from the TV screen. The Pope is in the top right corner of the picture, but there is a better view of just the TV screen.
Carmen has been gracious enough to forward me a scan of her photograph of the Pope as he drove past. And this is it. Thanks, Carmen. This image is Copyright
And Mel Cusi forwarded me his photograph too. Thanks, Mel. This image is Copyright
