There are only 2 major tourist "attractions" around Juneau. And our tour took us to both of them. First up was the Shrine of St. Therese which is located on an "island" a little north of Juneau. The island is linked to shore by a (man made) causeway. It was perhaps appropriate that we jouneyed there on Easter Sunday.
And as luck would have it, just as our taxi pulled into the parking lot, so did a rental car with some more boat people!
The causeway leading to the "island" containing the chapel. That's the Lynn Canal behind, with snowy peaks adding to the glory.
The chapel in among the trees. Mass is celebrated here in summer.
Being Easter Sunday makes this cross quite appropriate for the day. I wondered if there is a Good Friday celebration here.
Dappled sunlight and the cross in relief.
Looking across the channel to a snow covered range of mountains. This is the view from just to the right of the cross.
The view looking to the left - the edge of the cross is the left side of the image.
And the Stations of the Cross are here too. This is the fourth station.
Then from here, we headed back towards Juneau, but turned east before very long.
