My "random" walk led into the tourist part of "old Juneau", which just happens to be really close to the cruise ship wharf. What an amazing coincidence!
Front Street, with the foot of Mt. Roberts in the background.
Taken from the same position as the above photo, this is looking down Seward Street, across Gastineau Channel to Douglas Island.
Klondike Express at the wharf. The crew planned on leaving at midnight for the trip across the Gulf of Alaska to Whittier. I believe they left on time, and reached Whittier about 5PM that day. The snow capped peak behind is on Douglas Island.
Kelly and I had dinner in the hotel, not feeling especially adventurous about finding a place to eat, and not feeling all that hungry either. Then it was time to retire for the evening. But first, some photos...
Night starting to descend over Gastineau Channel.
Getting darker (but I increased the brightness of the image a bit).
Quite dark now, at 9PM.
And so ended our day, starting from wet Ketchikan and ending in sunny and dry Juneau. Tomorrow was Easter Sunday, and Kelly and I planned on attending Mass before breakfast.
