Like ships passing in the night? Not really, as it was the early morning! Note the large windows and thus excellent viewing provided from the "Klondike Express" - very comfortable! And a table for each pair of seats, so we had plenty of room to spread things out, and read or eat in comfort. This view was just a little north of Shilshole Bay.
Looking west towards the Olympic Mountains, just visible through the clouds. And all the new (light) green leaves on the foreshore.
Looking out the front of the boat as we head up Puget Sound. As the boat can travel at 38 knots (about 50 mph - 80 km/h), passengers are not allowed on the forward deck while moving. The land on the right may be Whidbey Island - then again, maybe not.
Morning sky over Puget Sound, near Port Townsend.
The Port Townsend to Keystone ferry, leaving Port Townsend, part of which is visible to the right. Port Townsend is a Victorian era town, which is attempting to keep it's past alive and in good condition.
Seagulls on Puget Sound. The Port Townsend/Keystone ferry often hits a rough patch in the middle, as it appears there is some form of merging of currents. I presume the seagulls know this brings food to the surface!
