Putting stuff in the ground seems to be a popular activity here! This is the foundation for the retaining wall on the northern side of the driveway. Garry is a brick layer by trade, so it's his responsibility to start laying the bricks - and always that means to start with a foundation. And Garry has very cleverly arranged to be on holidays starting Monday, so he will not be finishing this job!

Men at work! Dave the plumber to the right of the pile of cement blocks, Ryan (back to camera) to right of cement mixer, and Garry waging trench warfare with mud - the result of the heavy rains the other night.

Dave's handiwork here - the water line is connected to the house plumbing. And, so far, no leaks. This is looking west from the driveway along the fence with the nearest villa on the common driveway.

The connection to the water main, which enters from the right. The horizontal pipe on the right will be replaced with a meter in a week or two when Sydney Water come to install it. The assembly on the left is a combined pressure limiter and backflow prevention device (a one way valve, to ensure that none of the rain water runs into the water supply lines).

The living/dining/kitchen area, free (I think for the first time) of builder's stuff.
