Dalgety, the once future capital of Australia, is located downstream of Jindabyne Dam on the Snowy River. My last visit here was in 2007, in the midst of the drought. But the Snowy River has had almost no flow (at least from above Jindabyne) for 40 years. The first 2 photos show the difference in water level at the Dalgety Bridge.

Note that in the 2007 photo, the pier furthest from the camera is high and dry, and even the next one is barely in water, whereas in the 2011 photo, all three piers are in the water.
While watching, this raft came into view. As the water flow is essential to rafting, and the dam will be spilling water for a short time, it was a case of taking advantage while the opportunity presents itself.
Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Dalgety. The other side is slightly nicer looking, but was in shadow, and so hard to photograph. There's also a history plaque at the driveway, but the photo of this, and an excellent one of the Snowy River flowing, were damaged; I suspect the compact flash card, which has now been retired.
