A Quiet Monday

A quiet day, as my body and the local clocks disagreed. But, being Labor Day, and thus sales in full swing, I accompanied Judy to Lynwood Mall and bought a pair of jeans at the sale.

Bill at his desk, working away After returning from shopping, we saw Bill hard at work on this extra day of rest.

In The Garden

Judy's yellow dahlia flowers ready for a vase. Although overcast, I don't recall any significant rain. Most of that fell yesterday, before my arrival. And it was accompanied by gusty winds. But today was calm, and after retail therapy, Judy engaged in some gardening therapy. These dahlia blooms were destined to brighten up a number of places.

A pink dahlia bloom, still on the plant The dahlia's have done very well this year, as this one shows.

View down front street from front of garage This view is looking roughly south west from the front of the garage. It is a very pretty street of well maintained houses and gardens. The lawns are brown, as is common at this time of year unless much water has been applied. The very hot summer (for this area) required substantially more water than usual, and many gave up the fight.

View out Judy's kitchen window over front garden Judy's kicthen. Well, truth be known, it's also Bill's kitchen, as he does quite a bit of cooking/preparation too. This is looking in the same direction as the above photo from the front of the garage.

Close up view of kitchen window planter geraniums A closer view out the kitchen window. It is a pleasant scene, and I am sure contributs to better cooking.

The rest of the day was rather lazy, as I attempted to make my PC connect with the wireless network, and other assorted "administrative" type chores. An early-ish night followed, and included a 3 hour non-sleep period starting just before midnight. It wasn't until the end of the week that my sleep patterns achieved "normal".
