Jake in action climbing through the ropes, and having quite an enjoyable time. Flynn decided that he would prefer not venture from his somewhat stable platform - the two and a half years between them really shows up at times like this.
Looks like Jake is trying to test my theory of how this merry-go-round is self propelled. Alas, I don't recall if he made it work, but I suspect he did.
The cooking area (electric and free, although there is a confusing sign to the effect "Insert coins in the slot, if there is one." Cameron is doing chef's duty, while Peter has a chat, and Yvonne and Michelle talk away at the table where we were about to eat.
Chef at work. And, like all good chefs, there's a can (probably bourbon) in his hand. Peter watches on, and there's even a train on the bridge in the background.
By this time, dinner was ready, so we all sat down to satisfy the inner man. And it was good too.
But soon the boys were full, so they resorted to riding around - to burn off the food they didn't much eat! Here Jake is in full stride along the walking path around the outside of the Pleasure Grounds.
And where Jake is riding, Flynn is sure to be behind him somewhere. He can really move along on his trike, but it's just not as fast as Jake's bike. And I suppose Jake's age and extra strength helps a bit too.
Flynn caught with his pants down. And the evidence on the ground to prove it!
By now we were packed and just about to head on home after a very enjoyable picnic, not far from home, but on the banks of the George's River, on a delightful evening. I'm sure there'll be more of them this summer.
