The plan for Christmas Day was to have a light brunch at Cameron and Michelle's home in Woronora, with the Illawong contingent and Cameron's family. We would then return to Illawong where a family feast was to be had later in the day. The morning event allows the children's presents to be distributed and satisfy their excitement before the afternoon/evening mayhem!
The tide was low, so Cameron and Michelle's "beach" appears. Seems the ducks were keen to participate in the Christmas feed too.
Some of the assembled masses. Seems to be something on the river attracting attention.
Looking upstream on the Woronora River. There is a Christmas tradition along the river - the volunteer firefighters, stationed just a little downstream, play Santa in a fireboat. They head up the river, then call in at houses along the way, offering Christmas gifts for the youngsters, and accepting donations for their efforts. By this time, the boat had gone upstream, and was on its way down. The timing is really indeterminate, since it depends upon how many people are around.
Being on a river, fishing is quite acceptable. And Peter has caught something really big - Nemo! It was a "bonus gift" for something one of the boys received, if I recall correctly.
The Crofts boys - Stewart, Boyd and Cameron.
Cameron's got the yard looking really nice for the big event. Notice that people are already looking for shade, even at 9:15AM, and that's with daylight savings.
Even Flynn is looking for the shade, as he enjoys a drink.
Flynn and Peter hiding from the sun under the table. Just as well there was no food yet!
