Photos of the house as it was changing colours!
The back of the house looks as though it has some disease. But this crew was very thorough, including caulking and adding a bit of primer to both the caulked areas, and anywhere else they worked on the exterior. One of the crew described the windows as causing "plastiphobia". Unfortunately, the plastic was over the windows for more than 4 days. The masking was finished on a Wednesday, then it became wet and windy on Thursday, and to a lesser extent on Friday, but by Monday it was painting weather again.
Yes, a crew of 3 people! This was the beginning of the paint job. It turns out that some small birds (swallows, I think) have a nest in the roof of my house, with a miniscule entry just above where the painter's head is at the top of the ladder. At the time of writing, it's looks as though the young are about ready to fly off, so then I'll go up into the attic and block the hole. I've been up there before looking for it, but could not find anything.
The main colour is almost completely applied to the front of the house.
Coming around the corner on the eastern side.
Now on the back.
Note how the plants and shrubs are covered to keep the paint off.
