Tuesday morning was up to me, so I decided some riding would be in order. The map of the Victoria area shows the route followed. Basically turn left from the hotel and follow the road, with the occasional sign to clarify the direction at various locations. The route follows the coastline most of the way.
The MV Coho arriving on the first journey of the morning. (This time of year, it spends the night in Port Angeles). This is the view from my hotel suite.
Looking across the Strait of Juan de Fuca to the Olympic Mountains, and passing ship traffic. Ships headed to Vancouver, Seattle or Tacoma (in fact anywhere between Vancouver BC and Puget Sound and Hood Canal) travel this route.
Pleasure yachting at the entrance to Victoria Harbour.
One of the high speed (catamaran) ferries headed to Victoria.
Looking over Gonzales Bay towards downtown Victoria.
A closer view of the above - Gonzales Bay. I expect these would be expensive homes!
