Just a little behind the wall for Baker Lake Dam, there is a camping ground and picnic area, with spectacular views of Mt. Baker and Mt. Shuksan.
It was a wonderful day, and people came out from far and wide to enjoy it. This is a view over the picnic area and Baker Lake towards Mt. Shuksan
Mt. Shuksan without the distractions.
Mt. Baker, in its pristine glory, and overlooking part of the auxiliary catchment area for the reservoir.
Snow covered rock overhangs on the edges of Mt. Baker. These are just visible in the photo above, on the far left.
Along the road to Boulder Creek. The snow on the ground in the forest was thin to non-existant - the edge of the road is buildup from ploughing operations.
Mt. Baker at the end of Boulder Creek. The sky and the edge of the mountain are over-exposed :-(
Another closeup of Mt. Baker, showing the crater area near the top. Mt. Baker is still an active volcano, although it has not erupted for many years, but steam still vents from the top from time to time.
Looking down Boulder Creek.
Ready to go home.
