The photos taken a few days ago of the decaying barn were taken under less than ideal photographic conditions. So a return visit was undertaken - it wasn't really far out of the way, and it was a nice day.
From State Route 530, just a little west of Darrington, showing the large amount of snow still around.
From somewhere on the Baker Lake Road, a view of a pretty, snow covered mountain, with one of the foreground trees starting to bring forth its leaves.
Further along the Baker Lake Road, just inside the national forest, is this spectacular view of Mt. Shuksan, just near Mt. Baker (which would be to the left in this view).
Baker Lake Dam is low at this time of the year, as it has been busy generating electricity (it's a hydroelectric dam only). During my September 2001 visit, the water level was up to the top!
Looking upstream from the dam wall. The log boom is to stop debris floating into the wall and the power station inlets.
