Hacking River Cruise

25 April, 2001 (Anzac Day)

Up the river was the course of action. More specifically, a cruise up the Hacking River from Gunnamatta Bay to almost Audley in the Royal National Park, aboard the Tom Thumb III named in honour of Bass and Flinders, who took three days for their journey of exploration. A map and glossary of the cruise is available.

Gunnamatta Bay

Cronulla Wharf, before Port Hacking cruise

The Tonkin Street Wharf at the end of Gunnamatta Bay is the starting point. With a nice restaurant and cafeteria to cater for those waiting to explore, or just otherwise interested in watching the goings on.

Gunnamatta Park, with restaurant where we ate at Christmas

A view of the eastern shore of Gunnamatta Bay, including the Park and the restaurant where we had a family meal last Christmas. The restaurant is the building on the left, with the umbrellas.

Nice Homes

Views during the cruise

Quite a nice home, complete with boatshed and swimming pool.

Views during the cruise

Well, no boatshed, but still a nice area.
