Sydney's Hyde Park

Sunday, April 15th

On Easter Sunday I went to collect the rental car I had arranged. The pickup location is in William Street, so I caught the train, and allowed extra time to take photographs along the way.

Museum Station End

Alighting from the train at Museum station, I started to head towards the centre of the park, which is the location of William Street. Hyde Park, Sydney, looking towards Elizabeth Street

Looking approximately north west, at the buildings along Elizabeth Street. The tall building to the right (the one with the top below the trees) is the MLC building in Martin Plaza.

Mark Foy's old building seen from Hyde Park/Museum Station

The old Mark Foys building, located across the street from Museum station, and which used to have (and maybe still does) an underground connection to the train station. [Mark Foys used to be a department store, as I recall]

ANZAC Memorial

The ANZAC (Australian and New Zealand Army Corp) memorial is located in this section of the park.

It was a very calm day.

Sydney Tower

Sydney Tower, as viewed from the William/Park Street section of the park. For comparison, the Seattle Space Needle is only two thirds the height of Sydney Tower. Note also the Royal Easter Show banners.
