Balmain

December 13th

This evening's schedule was dinner with Bob, Josh and Zoe in Balmain. Even though my father was born in Balmain, this was the furthest I have ever been onto the Balmain peninsula! Dinner was followed by a very pleasant walk to the Darling Street Wharf.

The view from Bob's back yard, showing about half of the (relatively new) Anzac Bridge, which replaced the Glebe Island Bridge.

Henry Parkes home at Balmain, Sydney

The home of Sir Henry Parkes, one of the movers behind Federation, the centenary of which was just a few days after this photo was taken (i.e. on January 1st, 2001).

Park with No Name

Balmain Views, walking to Darling Street Wharf

This park has no name. It appears to be Maritime Services Board land, according to my old Street Directory. This view is looking across Johnston's Bay and Darling Harbour to the city.
