On the way home, just a little west of Baring, which appears to be more a place on a map than an actual settlement, there is a small area on the side of the road to pull into. And a rocky path down to the banks of the Skykomish River.

Evidence of the heavy flows during winter and spring, when melting snow brings a great deal of water down the river. And trees also come down the river.
Approaching Index, and the clouds and sun were starting to create interesting effects.
