Snowy Ride, 2014

The Snowy Ride is an annual event staged in the Snowy Mountains area in the south east of New South Wales. The prime purpose is to raise money for children's cancer research.

The general plan is to ride down on Friday, "ride event" on Saturday and return home Sunday. The ride event is to ride to a number of check points and have the entry form stamped. The ride ends at Thredbo, when the entry forms are placed into a barrel for prizes, including motorcycles!

As eventually happens, this year had some rain associated with the ride day. But so what!

Doing the Snowy, 2014 - Day 1
The first day was getting to Jindabyne. There are several possible routes, but we took the Princes Highway down almost to Bega, over Brown Mountain to Cooma thence Jindabyne. Rather a long way to go, but enjoyable, with delightful riding weather.

Doing the Snowy, 2014 - Day 2
The second day of the Snowy Ride 2014 - the big event day, where a mass parade of bikers enter Thredbo Village, and the awards and prizes are given out. The weather was not great in the afternoon, and we skipped the end.

Doing the Snowy, 2014 - Day 3
The third day of the Snowy Ride 2014. Time to head home for most, but this was expected to be the beginning of a further ride for me. But sometimes plans have to change.
