This year the Christmas luncheon involved a rail journey around Sydney on the historic Red Rattler, the first of Sydney's electric trains.
The journey started at Central and finished at Cronulla for an excellent lunch, and return to Central. However, the journey left Central to Strathfield to Hornsby to Waverton and North Sydney sidings (off limits to passenger carrying trains) then across the Harbour Bridge to Sydenham and thence Cronulla.
The local residents decided to return home by regular trains as the return to Central passes through our stations!
