Our walking tour ended at the museum, so we made our way down the hill to Molde's main street to check out what was happening with the festival.
And then we heard the parade coming. There is a daily street parade, modelled, I'm told, after the New Orleans tradition. This view down the main street shows the band working its way past the stalls. And note the wet pavement!
And there's the dude leading the parade!
The band passing by. It seemed the band was composed of those who happened to show up for the event. But they certainly seemed to be enjoying themselves, and the crowd appreciated them too.
The tail end of the band, with their assistants trailing along to distribute beads to the audience. Another New Orleans tradition, translated to Norway.
The band eventually stops at the stage in front of Town Hall. Molde used to be known as the "Town of Roses", partly at least due to the locals having their own sharing scheme to distribute the cuttings around. The red flowers along the top of Town Hall are roses. And that parade dude is on the stage, although it's not all that clear.
There were quite a number of amusing ballons, including this tiger!

And the Rose Maiden statue on its own.
