Tonight's concert by Milton Nascimento was in the Glassalen Pavillion in Tivoli Gardens. The ticket included admission to the gardens, and we were scheduled for dinner there too, in the Perlen restaurant.
Well, I presumed Tivoli Gardens would be something like the Sydney Domain, or some other large area of grass. But no, it's an amusement park, complete with rides!
After entry to the Gardens, I found out where we were to have dinner, and then went around enjoying (to the extent possible when it's rather wet) the area.
This photo is NOT upside down. This is one of those roller coasters which executes cork screws! It doesn't show too well in the detailed view, but the riders are actually pushed into their seats.
One of the water rides, with the Town Hall in the background.
There's even an oriental section. And, the tower in the background is a ride, but not one for me. One of the nice features I did see was that some of the rides are duplicated on a tiny scale for really small children, so they can go on their own rides.
About mid image is the carriage with the riders. It is pulled slowly to the top, then after a delay it drops, then "bounces" a few times before returning to base. No thanks!
The grounds are kept in excellent condition, which must have been something of a challenge this year, given the absence of summer.
There was even a band concert, and even people (like me!) prepared to listen from under an umbrella. From memory they were playing light classics.
Attractive gardens, a pirate ship (actually a restaurant, with no diners, as best I could tell) and the "drop ride".
Unlike Disneyland, the pirate ship is not on rails, and appears not to move at all.
