I was interested in night time photos around the river, so it was past the Duomo and Palazzo Vecchio and the Ufizzi to the banks of the Arno.
Looking towards Piazzale Michelangelo, which is the area with the lights near the top of the distant hill. This is looking roughly east.
The Ponte Vecchio at dusk, showing the shops and the Vasari Corridor atop.
Looking along the Uffizi gallery towards Palazzo Vecchio (the tower) and ultimately the Duomo.
The bust is of Renaissance master goldsmith and sculptor Benvenuto Cellini (1500 - 1571). It is in the centre of the bridge, on the western side.
Looking west along the Arno from Ponte Vecchio.
Looking north along Ponte Vecchio, that is, back towards the Duomo etc.
On the way back to the hotel, this is the Piazza della Repubblica, showing the typical Italian late dining style. This was about 9:30.
So it was time to head back to the hotel, to take care of the sorts of daily chores so beloved of travellers!
