We pulled out of Namu and continued along Fitz Hugh Sound.
An Alaska State Ferry, the Matanuska passed by. This is the main shipping route from Alaska to Puget Sound. Even so, I think this was the largest vessel we passed. British Columbia also operates ferries through this area, as there are no roads on the mainland just here.
At the northern end of Fitz Hugh Channel, we turned left to head between Hunter and Denny Islands, then turned right to travel between Campbell and Denny Islands. This is a relatively densely populated part of the journey, as there are four towns and an airport within a few kilometres of one another - albeit spread out on two islands!
The little community of Waglisla, on Campbell Island.
We passed this boat motoring along; as we passed, they turned across our wake and headed into the town of Campbell Island, on Campbell Island.
The township of Campbell Island.
There's a lighthouse at the northern end of Campbell Island.
Looking back at the lighthouse and Campbell River town.
