At Port Hardy

Port Hardy is the northern most town (according to my maps) on the east side of Vancouver Island. It's a service town for this part of the country. There are several towns north of Port Hardy, but none shown on the east coast.

Upon arrival, we pulled into the fuel dock to refill the boat's tanks. I don't know if we did this in Sidney - we were near the fuel dock, but I don't know if refuelling took place.

After settling up for fuel, Phrater came back on board with Nina, who gave Phrater a couple of treats.

Yes, the fuel gauge stopped just short of 10,000 litres

Docking

When the tanks were full, we moved a little down the harbour to the "passenger" dock. It was a very low tide, and the dock was very high. As an indication of how long this area has been settled, this dock is marked as an historic site, being the 1924 replacement for the original dock.

As you can see, the boat is a long way below the dock level. We left from the boat's second deck - still a bit of a climb, especially with luggage! The bus on the dock carried us to our hotel for the night.
