Crocodiles And Other Things

Walking along the path, there's a bit of a rise to cross a bridge over some water. And on the other side of this pond lurks danger - a real live crocodile

You can see that it is much bigger than it looks, with so much of the tail under water.

Then somebody looked directly down from the bridge, and saw this.

Which on closer examination, turned out to be a crocodile. Both of these were completely still - no ripples even from breathing. They were very hard to see.

When the boys had seen enough of these (there were somewhat unimpressed by the crocodiles!) we continued along and looked down to see this crocodile. It did actually move while we watched it, but it was quite hard to see against the background when stationary.

These two crocodiiles had been swimming in the pond, and caught some weed, which didn't help their camoflauge much in this location, but elsewhere could be very effective.

Other Things

Some animal gymnastics! I don't know what kind of wading bird this is.

Pelican scratching it's back Anything you can do, I can do better...

These pelicans remind me of that old poem:

A funny bird is the pelican
Its beak can hold more than its belly can
