Brunch is a gentle way to start the day, and here it was
with Peter and Yvonne, and the MacIntoshes and Wallaces.
The usual location, "Soul and Pepper" restaurant, where
there is a strict rule against rearranging tables. So
we sat at two tables.
Wednesday was also a low key day. After yesterday's trip to the reef, anything else would be somewhat lacking in excitement and interest.

After an inactive day of reading, snoozing and a gentle walk along Macrossan Street, I thought I'd get some photos of the dive boats returning from the reef, especially the Haba boat.

Ah, another catamaran dive boat appears. There are a number of
tour operators, but they all seem to dive in about the same
location! But not all boats are of equal speed.
Ah, a definite pecking order is operating here!

A sailing boat heading out for an afternoon cruise as the "Silversonic"
boat comes in from the reef.

which is "sort of" visible in the close up. Since these are 15km
from the coast, some heat shimmer is not unexpected.

The boat we were on yesterday. It returned before I was in place
to take a photo, so no luck on this trip.

view shows the glass bottom boat, and also the dive platform
at the rear. This slides into the water at the destination;
then it's just a matter of walking down two steps and you are
in the water. Very convenient.
More afternoon activity at Marina Mirage, or perhaps the yacht club.
The boat on the right seemed to be training some "crew" members
on how to sail. Note also the
smoke
on the top of the mountain in mid image. The area is very dry,
and even though this is the wet season, there was very little rain
while we were there, and indeed November's rainfall was less than
one third of average.

From here I walked back to Hibiscus Gardens, then it was time for dinner at the Combined Sports Club, followed by a leisurely walk home including at stop at the ice cream shop! What a great end to a lazy day.
