The next day started off as so many of the following days did: around the pool with various assorted family members. Although this was later amended with early risers walking around Port Douglas (not that's there all that much to Port Douglas) before the heat of the day started.
Peter with grandson Flynn taking a break from the pool.
Both look pretty relaxed.
Jake in the pool with his mum, Michelle. Jake had swimming lessons
for the two weeks before we left, so he was not afraid of the water,
but couldn't really swim either. However, with coaching during
our stay, especially from his dad Cameron, he was able to swim
when we left.

The front pool of
Hibiscus Gardens.
This was mostly the kiddies pool. From left: Peter, Flynn, Jake (about
to dive in), Cameron and Michelle.
Jake taking the plunge. He would jump in and Cameron or Peter would
catch him - all day long if he could find somebody to act as catcher!
Peter in Balinese mode - the resort has a Balinese theme to the
architecture and decorations.
Jake and Flynn (and Cameron's knee) in the wading pool, splashing
water and just having fun. Particularly enjoyable in the heat.
The "front" of Hibiscus Gardens. My room was behind the roof in
about the middle of the image. Cameron tells me that the dirty
looking roof is achieved by pouring milk on the tiles. But since
Cameron is rarely serious, I take this with a grain of salt :-)
After this it was time to clean up and head downtown.
