I was looking for something known to be in an old suitcase. But I did not know which suitcase. Opening one by one I came across this treasure trove of memories, not to mention chairs.
At first, it seemed to be all Microsoft chairs, but a good night's sleep resulted with the blue chair not from Microsoft, rather from some long forgotten source.
This colorful selection of chairs was given to employees, mostly when a large gathering was expected. So individual chairs was the solution.
The middle chair is an assemble your self project from the pieces in the carry bag on the floor in front. With no instructions, it turns into a puzzle before sitting down. Fortunately, just 7 pieces, not counting the carry bag.
There is another piece of Microsoft, but not as useful. It is the Ship It award, upon which a label can be placed when your project is shipped out.
This is the Ship It award, being a piece of lucite coming in at 4.6kg. Perhaps it was an effort to strengthen arm muscles while at work. There's an amusing story about the email announcement of this item.
My one and only award was quite a mishap. It said Microsoft OS/2 3.1 which may have been a very distant future. Microsoft's involvement stopped (by my recollection) with OS/2 2.1; Windows 3 won the day with users.
