After 7 years, it was time to replace the Triumph Sprint GT. Not that there was anything wrong with it - it was no longer the sort of bike I wanted for the now much shorter touring trips.
This beemer is much lighter, smaller and nimble, and fun to just go on a long day's ride. The Sprint was capable of that; the beemer excels at it.
