To keep the party goers entertained, there is a jumping castle, seen here on the left. Kept upright by air pressure, this results in a structure with bounce and no hard edges to harm the energetic 6 year olds. Since my last visit, the cubby house on the right has been brightened up; it was stained wood, but the new colour scheme is much more inviting. Lily is pointing out some decoration to Yvonne.
The shark looks quite friendly, and even the walrus doesn't look too concerned. The shark did turn out to be somewhat treacherous, but not with its mouth! It does turn turtle quite easily, and the littlies figured that out soon enough, and had much fun with it!
This is a water slide! The blue strip down the middle is hollow, with a connectio to a garden hose at the far end. This did not work too well at the beginning, but eventually was able to spray water out along the length of the sheet. This makes sliding much easier! Then somebody added a little detergent, and that really helped sliding.
Note that neither of these competitors have a flag. Mostly the youngsters just enjoyed the sliding part!
But ultimately there was a birthday cake (ice cream cake in this instance), and we did the usual with candles, singing and blowing out the candles. All that's on the video clip. Here, Yvonne is handing out slices of "cake"; Cooper, being birthday boy, already has his.
Mayhem in the pool. A sunny day and a pool is enough to make many of the youngsters happy. And tired.
