Just outside the eastern entrance to the park is this view of
the National Library across the lake; the mist is spray from the
Captain Cook fountain. The flag is on top of (new) Parliament House.
A place for a quiet moment - a serene pond, mostly surrounded by trees,
and with a sculpture featuring a flock of birds.
Closeup of one of the sculptures - it may be a
darter,
some of which live in Lake Burley Griffin (adjacent to this location).
This view over Nerang Pond (and not visible Lake Burley Griffin)
to the National Library, and just the top of New Parliament House,
but most especially its flag pole.
