The first Communicants waiting outside the church at Menai. They were the last to enter after the rest of the congregation had been seated.
Father Phil requested there be no photography during Mass. This is quite reasonable, as it tends to turn the event into a circus. So, this photo was taken at the end of Mass. Yvonne, Kelly with Lily (who was very good), Peter, Cooper, Michelle, Jake and Flynn.
Jake received a gift to commemorate the occasion.
The restaurant uses paper "table cloths", and happily supplies pens for the little ones to draw with. Here, Lily is happily drawing away on the table, under Peter's watchful eye. Later on, Peter showed Lily how to draw her hand on the table - hand down, and run pen/pencil around the edge. She got the idea pretty quickly and was soon drawing many hands.

Yvonne, Di and Bev at the table in the glorious winter sunshine. Di and Bev have been close family friends for a very long time, and participate in many events. They were even at my birthday party on Saturday night for a short time, until Di's daughter went into labour.

The assorted mob at the table: clockwise from lower left: Peter, Kelly, Flynn, Cooper, Michelle, Jake, Di, Yvonne (standing) and Bev.
The two youngest generations in the family: Kelly, Flynn, Cooper, Michelle and Jake.
Lily is obviously enjoying her paddle pop.
Flynn and Cooper decided to escape from the table to explore a bit.
The trusty photographer in front of the camera for a change, with backup from the (some time) other photographers, Di and Bev.

The family: Flynn, Jake and Michelle
Flynn, absorbing some scene of interest, with a lolly in his mouth.
Mother and son, and some paparazzi.
We almost left without having the cake delivered! That would have been a terrible waste of cake. And chocolate cake at that.
The cake being lit.
