Jake is an excellent soccer player, and his team, the Bangor Brumbies were playing at 10:30, so I headed over to watch the match. Jake's brother, Flynn, is mad on things military, as is probably obvious in this photo taken at the Billa Road Oval before the game.
The match was quite exciting, with Jake's team winning 2 - 1. And Jake was awarded Player Of The Match, which is the trophy he is holding here.
This is Jake's first year with this team, which is a higher grade than his previous team, where Jake was the star player. He seemed a little hesitant at first, but is liking the new team, which challenges him to step up a notch in his playing.
For reasons that I don't know, it appears that photography of players in a public park is not allowed. There was a professional photographic company on site, so I suppose they sign an exclusive deal with the club, and hence there are no photographs of the actual game here. Sigh.
